We are looking to appoint a (temporary) part-time Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team at the beginning of September, until the end of December 2022.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be an essential member of our catering team, performing a variety of tasks in a busy school kitchen environment, and contributing to the smooth running of the catering service.  You will need to be adaptable and flexible, and able to assist the Catering Manager with basic food preparation, serving students and staff, washing up and keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and safe.  This post involves regular contact with both students and staff, and the successful candidate needs to be able to relate well to students and adults alike.  Experience of working in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be required to work 27.5 hours per week, 8.30 a.m. – 2.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.  You will be paid on Kent Range 3 and the annual pay will be £12,345 (based on a full time equivalent of £19,293).  You will be required to work term time only.

Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School is a highly respected selective Voluntary Controlled Girls’ Grammar School that places students’ academic success on a par with their wellbeing, creating a unique learning community where every individual matters. Students attending the school are aged between 11-18 years and the school has a student roll of about 1,300 students (with approx. 400 pupils in our mixed Sixth Form).
