We are looking to appoint a caretaker to join our team of friendly and dedicated staff at Kennington CE Academy:

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated. They will ensure our school site is maintained to the highest standard both indoors and out.

The role involves:

General maintenance, undertaking general repairs around the establishment, inside and out.  These will include decorating, repairs, cleaning, basic plumbing, drain clearance and carpentry to ensure the site is a safe and tidy environment for students, staff and visitors.

Assist in portering services for deliveries as and when required. 

Proactively identify and report any defects to the Site Manager to ensure health and safety procedures are followed and to enable repairs to be carried out.  Record serious hazards to site manager immediately. 

Collecting and disposal of waste in appropriate manner; and cleaning and maintaining waste bins.

Maintain and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies, and refill and replace consumables.

This post is for 20 hours a week. The shift pattern would be 6am-10pm

Information about the school

Kennington CE Academy is 3 form entry (12 classes) for Key stage 2 of 360 pupils, situated in North Ashford and serving a mixed community of children who are enthusiastic about learning and their school.

We have strong relationships with our feeder Infant school, Downs View and The Towers, our nearest high school. Our church school status has led us to develop close links with the local parish church. We are sponsored by Aquila, the Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk)
