Are you adaptable and flexible, and ready to respond to the needs of the child? Do you have the skills to work with a pupil with Special Educational Needs to support their personalised learning and social development?

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Ramsgate Arts Primary School to support a child 1:1 with additional needs and an EHCP.

Experience of working across children with Special Educational Needs would be an advantage and also experience of working in KS1. Your numeracy and literacy will be of a high enough calibre to improve standards. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude, good sense of humour and be friendly and approachable. Good time management and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children in their personalised learning, both within a classroom setting and through specific interventions.
  • Leading academic and social and emotional interventions
  • Feeding back to the class teacher and SENCo, keeping records of progress and behaviour.

Above all you need to like children, to want the very best for them and be prepared to put their needs first: children will be at the heart of your work.

Ramsgate Arts Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including reference checks with previous employers and an enhanced DBS check.

All applications will be considered and all relevant training will be given to the right candidate.

This position will be a term time only contract, for 20 hours per week.  Monday to Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm.
