Wrotham School is looking for an experienced Site Manager to direct and manage the activities of the facilities, maintenance and cleaning teams so that buildings, grounds and plant are safe, maintained appropriately and secure.

 

The role of the Site Manager:

 

  • Develop, implement and maintain an appropriate programme of repair and maintenance activities across the site to ensure that such activities are timely and cost effective.
  • Direct the day to day activities of the maintenance teams across the site, including setting and agreeing schedules for any over time or weekend working, as well as ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place to allow emergency repairs to be undertaken, including any arrangements to cover repairs which may be necessary outside of normal operating hours.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, heating and water services on the premises, including lifts, and to ensure safe levels of lighting, heating and ventilation are maintained.
  • Liaise with teaching staff efficiently to ensure regular maintenance of work areas.
  • Ensure that the maintenance and cleaning team operates effectively and delivers maintenance and cleaning of the Academy to agreed high standards. Dealing with any associated HR issues including their performance reviews.
  • Liaise with external building, grounds and maintenance contractors working on the site to ensure a high standard of work, completed to the agreed specification, ensuring that they are completed on time and are cost effective.
  • Ensure the security of the site, and arrangements are in place for emergency call outs. Ensure that all buildings are opened and locked as required including weekends.
  • Ensure that all deliveries received are stored securely and delivered to their appropriate locations.
  • Identify and record risk assessments for all areas of the various buildings, grounds and plant, undertaking any remedial action as required.
  • Advise the Director of Finance and Resources and the Head teacher of any health and safety issues and their implications. To act as the Health and Safety Manager of the Academy. To be responsible for annual H&S audits, risk assessments, maintain the H&S documents and policies and organise staff training as required. To ensure that changes to H&S legislation are implemented and communicated to all management and staff.
