Due to an increase in both curriculum and extra-curriculum commitments, Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School is seeking to appoint a part time teacher of music from September 2022 to join our outstanding department. Whilst the amount of time and teaching commitment of this role is small, we would also extend the opportunity to join our thriving peripatetic team and deliver private lessons at the school.

We welcome applications from talented individuals who will dedicate themselves to the implementation of the school and department’s vision and the continued development of the music across the school.

This role is suitable of either an Early Career Teachers (ECT) or somebody already teaching but ambitious to develop their career further. The successful candidate must be a passionate practitioner who will fully involve themself in the extra-curricular opportunities and events offered by the school. It would be highly desirable if the successful applicant is a pianist.

Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School is a highly respected selective Voluntary Controlled Girls’ Grammar School that places students’ academic success on a par with their wellbeing, creating a unique learning community where every individual matters. Students attending the school are aged between 11-18 years and the school has a student roll of about 1,300 students (with approx. 400 pupils in our mixed Sixth Form).

Simon Langton Girls Grammar School expects all governors, staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Record Disclosure check from the Disclosure and Barring Service, along with other relevant employment checks, including oversees criminal background checks, where applicable. All new governors, employees and volunteers will be required to undertake safeguarding training on induction which will be regularly updated in line with statutory guidance.
