We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic teacher to join our hardworking and supportive school community. Full time or part time (job share) applications will be considered. 

 Our small school offers a distinctive experience – we have enthusiastic, caring pupils who are keen to learn and a small, friendly teaching team. The successful candidate will join our teaching team. The right candidate will have:

  • An understanding of the strengths and challenges of working in a small school.
  • Experience of teaching pupils in Key Stage 1
  • Experience of teaching mixed aged classes – preferably KS1.
  • Experience of delivering high quality phonics lessons.
  • A wide range of teaching strategies that are research/evidence based.
  • Excellent subject knowledge across the primary curriculum.
  • The ability to deliver well planned lessons that promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills
  • An understanding of the importance of prior learning and how this influences what pupils learn next.
  • An ability to evidence progress and demonstrate that pupils know more / remember more over a period of time.
  • Good communication skills so that parents and pupils feel comfortable discussing their child’s academic progress and personal development with you.
  • A positive and team-centred approach – this is so important when working in a small school – we aim to ensure that everyone feels supported and valued.
  • Resilience and be reflective.
  • The ability to embrace school’s vision ‘walking in the shoes of others’ and our values of courage, determination, compassion and friendship.
  • The desire the be a role model of the school’s vision and values
  • An understanding of the role of a Church of England school in pupil development / experiences.
  • Broad shoulders, a sense of humour and willingness to work hard.

Information about the school

We are a small village church school, at the heart of our community, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have 80 pupils taught in four classes: Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

The school plays a very active role in the local and wider community and provides many opportunities for children to develop their talents and interests, whether this be in the sporting competitions we take part in or in our wide range of extra-curricular clubs.

Our staff team is small, friendly and mutually supportive, which we believe is a real strength of our school. Our Christian values are important to us and are at the heart of all we strive to achieve.
