  • To assist the Assistant Principal for Inclusion and SEND in leading the provision for SEND within the school.
  • Contribute to the strategic vision of the SEND and Inclusion team.
  • Have experience of working with pupils with SEND.
  • Have knowledge of high-quality interventions together with the tracking and evaluation of these.
  • Remain up to date with national changes to SEND.
  • Have experience or an interest in educational research and toolkits that support evidence-based practices for SEND.
  • Have experience of working and communicating with parents and outside professional agencies.
  • To support the Assistant Principal for Inclusion and SEND in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum.
  • To overview and quality assure provision maps and record keeping.
  • To have high expectations for pupils with SEND needs.
  • To have an interest in specific professional development of SEND knowledge and expertise.
  • To have knowledge of trauma and attachment needs in children.
  • Be the first point of contact for the parents of students with SEND.
  • To support the provision of SEND, including maintaining an overview for the allocation of support time and the writing of individual student outcomes for students with SEN with Support.
  • To liaise with relevant outside agencies to ensure that individual pupil SEND needs are met effectively and that the statutory provisions of EHCP students are met.
  • Ensuring that accurate and detailed records are kept of meetings and discussions with parents and outside agencies.
  • Ensuring that staff are kept informed of pupil’s SEN & D needs and advise on areas to develop and support.
  • Working with the Assistant Principal for Inclusion and SEND and other staff to ensure that Pupil Profiles are used to set subject- specific targets and match work well to pupils’ needs.
  • Using data effectively to identify pupils who are seriously underachieving and where necessary create and implement effective plans of action to support those pupils.
  • To provide guidance to staff on the choice of appropriate teaching and learning methods to meet the needs of different pupils. Support in the delivery of a high quality training programme.
  • To work with the Assistant Principal for Inclusion and SEND to promote an inclusive curriculum.
  • To liaise with and inform parents/carers about the specifics of the SEN provision for their child under the direction of the Assistant Principal for Inclusion and SEND .
  • To monitor the progress of students with SEN and advise them Assistant Principle for Inclusion and SEND .
  • To support teaching staff in providing a quality first teach approach, under the direction of the Assistant Principal for Inclusion and SEND.
  • To support the process of access arrangements in liaison with the Access Arrangements Assessor Examinations Manager.
