Broomhill Bank School is seeking an outstanding Practitioner of Physical Education.

The successful candidate will work alongside our existing Head of PE to design and deliver a curriculum suitable for the needs of our students.They will have the passion and drive to inspire our cohort to participate in a broad curriculum and develop the skills and aptitude tye require to engage in lifelong participation in physical activity.

The successful candidate will be joining as we update our facilities.  To support our young people's development, a new sports hall with trampoline facilities and fitness suite will be available to enhance the curriculum.  An interest in delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme would be an advantage, but not essential.

Broomhill Bank School's ethos is to develop and identify future school leaders.  For the right candidate there will be opportunities to secure a middle leadership role within the school, through subject enhancement or pastoral pathway.

Our students are aged 11-19 years and all have an Education, Health & Care Plan; they have communication and interaction difficulties, often related to Autism. With class sizes of 10 and with additional adult support, we tailor our curriculum and classroom delivery to every student’s individual needs. Our students make good progress thanks to the high-quality teaching and because we are a multi-agency team working alongside our Speech & Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Pastoral Team and Residential Team.

We welcome qualified teachers at any stage of their career, from mainstream or special education as well as newly qualified teachers, as we provide a programme of specialist training for all new members of staff, in addition to our ongoing CPD programme.

  • Have an enthusiasm for new approaches and implementation of your ideas

  • Are ambitious, professional and are committed to further personal development
  • Are committed to working as part of a dynamic team of professionals both in and out of the classroom.

Broomhill Bank School is a highly successful, mixed, special school for students with an EHCP relating to their Communication and Interaction difficulties. We are based on two sites; Broomhill Bank School (West) is in Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells and Broomhill Bank School (North) is in Hextable near Swanley. Both sites are attractive with lots of space for our students. We also have extensive plans for new buildings which are currently in development.

We are members of the collaborative group of Kent Special Schools KSENT, which consists of 24 special schools across Kent.
