22.5 hours a week (term time) 06:45-8:45, 3:00-5:30

42 weeks a year, 38 Term Time and 4 weeks during the school holidays (flexible hours). 

Palm Bay Primary School is looking for a cleaner to join our team. At Palm Bay we take pride in the high standards of presentation at our school. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, diligent cleaner to join our premises team in undertaking a full range of cleaning duties.

Purpose of the Job:

To undertake cleaning duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the school, as directed.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  1. Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed.
  2. Operate / use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training.
  3. Store allocated equipment and materials safely and securely.
  4. Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately.
  5. Collect and dispose of waste.
  6. Refill and replace soap, towels and other materials.
  7. Notify the Line Manager or other senior member of staff, of any damage to buildings and equipment or anything  that may be dangerous to pupils and/or adults.

 

Individuals in this role may also undertake some or all of the following:

  1. Undertake specialised cleaning programmes during school closures or other designated periods.

Over the past three years, we have been developing our curriculum using a creative, topic-based approach. The creative arts continue to remain a priority: we have five artists-in-residence who are based in our on-site studio space, close links with the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery and have gained the Gold Artsmark award. Committed to raising the aspirations and life-chances of the children we serve, we launched an exciting global citizenship programme in September, which incorporates politics, careers-related learning and personal development, helping our pupils to become caring, active members of their community.
