About the role: Mascalls Academy has an exciting vacancy for a talented and committed Games Coach/Cover Supervisor to help develop the after school sports programme and academy teams, starting from September 2022. Mascalls Academy currently has an extensive extra curricular programme and the Games Coach will work with year group squads to improve all aspects of their game and performance in a range of school competitions and fixtures. The scope for further development of the role is particularly exciting.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with Level 2/3 coaching qualifications (or equivalent) who has worked with younger or university aged students. This role is the perfect position to compliment any current coaching work and would also suit an individual who is looking to start a career in teaching.

As Cover Supervisor, you will support the academy and stand in for the teacher if they are absent in all subjects. You will be required to instruct the students to complete appropriately set work and support their learning in a calm working environment. Every student is equipped with a Chromebook to supplement their learning and a majority of cover work is set using this device by the class teacher.

Our successful candidate will also be given a time allowance to ensure the ability to market teams and clubs and plan challenging, exciting and engaging after school sessions. It is very important that the successful candidate is confident in working with young people and that they are able to create positive, sustainable relationships based on high expectations.

For more information about this post, please contact Mr Mike Illsley (Assistant Principal) at mike.illsley@mascallsacademy.org.uk. To find out more about Mascalls Academy, visit our website at https://mascallsacademy.org.uk/

This is a permanent position offering an actual salary of £14,991 per annum (£18,425 full time equivalent) based on 35 hours + Term Time + 1 week of inset. Please note that additional remuneration can be offered for extra curricular fixtures.
