Pay Scale CCGS 4 pt 11 (£19,099) pro rata - £14059.67

Required for September, initially on a one year contract,
for 32.5 hours per week term time only, daily hours to be confirmed.

 

 

Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Designer/Engineer/technician to operate and maintain a CAD/CAM HUB, and support design technology teaching on our upper school Design Department. The ideal candidate will have a background in a Design or Engineering subject with an interest in 3D printing or be looking to explore a career in teaching design technology.

 

The enthusiastic applicant will be required to run a CAD/CAM HUB at the upper school Design Department. The applicant will be responsible for the running the Design technology department 3D HUB and the running of 13 Ultimaker 3D printers CAM machines including laser cutters, and multi axis CNC routers. All the CAM facilities will require regular maintenance and servicing whilst also fulfilling other technician and teaching assistant responsibilities such as providing and preparing materials and apparatus, as required by the teacher, to support the teaching of the subject at KS4 and KS5. There will be a reasonable level of CAD work, using Solidworks, Autodesk and the Adobe Creative Suite.

 

Excellent communication and organisational skills is particularly important as there will be regular contact with students, staff, and outside agencies.

 

Additional responsibility would include maintaining and checking the apparatus and ordering materials, using the CAD/CAM HUB to manufacturing parts for outside agencies and other local schools, and keeping the department open to students during study periods.
