Advert

St Mildred's is looking for a dedicated, innovative, creative, self motivated and determined Sports Coach to join our school.  The post will be a temporary position in the first instance, linked to Sports Grant Funding.

St Mildred's is a school with a creative and child centred approach to education.  Our inspiration is the quote "Children must be taught how to think and not what to think".

You will be part of a team determined to offer the best possible education for the children for whom we are responsible and who are not afraid to take a pioneering approach to achieve our aims.

Our Outstanding Ofsted report from November 2021 stated ‘Everyone works together to help pupils achieve their very best. Consequently, pupils are happy and eager to be at school.'

You should be willing to use your skills and talents to undertake the practical delivery of a variety of sport activities, to students, during PPA cover and during lunchtime and after school clubs. You will also facilitate sports events across the school and in interschool competitions and festivals.

In exchange we can offer you happy, enthusiastic children and a supportive staff team who are passionate about St Mildred's and its vision "Dream Big, Aim High, Make a Difference."

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent) preferred
  • Proven experience in the planning, coordination and practical delivery of coaching in a range of sports.
  • Successful experience of engaging children in sport.
  • Ability to plan and take personal responsibility for organising day to day workload.
  • The desire to be caring, nurturing and supportive of each individual.
  • A willingness to drive the school minibus – training will be provided.
