The role will involve implementing programmes of support designed especially to meet pupils’ individual needs, which can range from communication to social and emotional needs and involve a child’s development and learning. You would be an integral part of the Special Educational Needs Team and we work closely with outside organisations to create personal plans for each pupil. 

The successful candidates will have a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience, a flexible approach to their work and an ability to embrace challenges. Whilst experience with SEND is highly desirable, we require passionate, enthusiastic and inspirational individuals. Full training and support is given to all of our staff.

The post is currently fixed term to the 31st August 2023 as it is dependent on High Needs Funding not being extended or the children leaving. ontract has the potential to be extended.

We welcome Catholic and Non-Catholic applicants. Non-Catholic’s must be able to support the Catholic life and ethos of the school, have good numeracy and literacy skills. Experience of working with children is vital.

This role is required Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:15pm). 30 minutes lunch time supervision is included in the hours.

This post is subject to a 6-month probation period.

St Ethelbert’s Catholic Primary School is a one form entry school set in the heart of the Georgian town of Ramsgate, Kent, just a short walk from the beaches overlooking the English Channel. The school had its last Ofsted Inspection in June 2019 and is rated Good. It had a denominational inspection in May 2023 and is rated Outstanding. Our staff and governors are hard-working, caring, supportive and friendly and the children are very well behaved. With our church being on the school site we are building strong links with our local community. Our school motto is ‘High Expectations for all, in the Light of Christ’.
