One to One Learning Support Assistant

Looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and patient Learning Support Assistant to join our hardworking and supportive team, as soon as possible.  This unique role involves working on a one to one basis with a pupil in Year 4, as part of their EHCP.  The ideal candidate will have an understanding of communication and language needs, Dyspraxia and autism. An experience of delivering interventions as well as one to one classroom support, is highly desirable.

Hilden Grange pupils are taught by specialist teachers for all subjects from Year 3 upwards. The role would include one to one support during academic lessons as well as delivering interventions for Speech and Language, Social Stories, handwriting and BEAM.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is passionate about enabling every child to fulfil their potential
  • has experience of working with children with communication and language needs, ASC and Dyspraxia
  • has experience in delivering interventions
  • has good communication skills and a flexible attitude
  • has good English and maths skills
  • has effective time management and an ability to work using their own initiative.

 

Candidates must ideally possess relevant NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications or above and also have English and Maths GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent.

 

Start date:          June 2022 or ASAP

Hours:                Full-time, fixed term (2.5 years maximum, linked to a child with funding that is reviewed annually). Term time only, 29.5 hours a week (8.30am to 4pm - except for Tuesdays - 3pm finish and Thursdays – 2pm finish due to sports afternoons).

Salary:                  A salary of £18000 - £25000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience on the Alpha Plus scale.
