Do you strive to make a difference to the place you work and the pupils you support?

Would you like to be part of a small, active, supportive and friendly team?

Are you a creative teacher who can inspire children through a range of teaching approaches?

Are you a positive, inspirational and motivated person?

If the answer is yes to all of these, we would love for you to come and work in our school!

We welcome applications from all teachers no matter what experience you have. Our children deserve to have the best teacher and we can fully support an ECT through experienced mentors.

We are looking for a brilliant teacher to teach our Year 3/4 mixed age class in September. This is a permanent full time position. However, for the right candidate we would consider a 4 day-a-week flexible teaching post.

Learning Outside the Classroom underpins our curriculum, we believe children learn best when not confined by 4 walls. We are ambitious with our curriculum, going beyond the National Curriculum.  More information regarding Learning Outside the Classroom can be found at: lotc.org.uk

There are plenty of opportunities for CPD from within the school, through external training and using the expertise of other schools which form part of the CARE Foundation Trust.

We need someone who has high expectations and a drive to improve outcomes for our children. The applicant should be a good team player but also be self-motivated and able to act upon his or her own initiative. We need someone who is passionate about teaching Key Stage 2 and mixed age classes - this means being creative in your teaching approach.

The ideal applicant should have a good understanding of child development and of how children learn, and be able to enthuse, engage and challenge children in their learning journey. Please see our person specification for more information about the skills and experiences we are looking for.

You must be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors in order to support learners in a range of environments, even on cold days as we make use of our surroundings - which include our forest school. You should understand that working in a small school often means going the extra mile without being asked, because it benefits the whole community - especially the pupils.

We can offer you:

  • A friendly family ethos
  • A well resourced working environment
  • A staff team that is caring and committed to ensuring children’s maximum achievement
  • Delightful pupils to teach and supportive governors and parents.
  • The opportunity to take PPA at home
  • Experienced mentors to support an ECT

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact the school office on 01233 812614 or email office@brook-ashford.kent.sch.uk to arrange a visit.

Brook Community Primary School is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of children’s welfare. The post is subject to checks in line with this commitment including an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check.
