Job Description

SEND Provision Evaluation Officer

Role Responsibility

Kent’s Education and Young People’s Services requires 5 SEND Provision Evaluation Officers to provide specialist expertise to enable the monitoring, evaluation and development of special educational needs provision in mainstream schools.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team with special educational needs staff in a range of educational establishments and from other KCC services as well as colleagues from health and social care. You will work across one or more districts within the North, East, South or West Kent areas.

You will monitor and evaluate the special educational needs provision for individual children or young people with an Education Health and Care Plan or receiving SEN Support in mainstream schools, working collaboratively with parents and carers, children and young people, schools and other stakeholders.

You will also monitor, evaluate and provide guidance to support schools to further develop their special educational needs provision at a whole school level.

Qualified Teacher Status, the successful completion of the National Award for SEN Coordination (or other relevant Post Graduate qualification in SEN) and experience of supporting other schools in developing their capacity to meet the needs of SEN pupils are the required qualifications and experience necessary.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

The interview date is 25th January 2022 and this will be conducted virtually on an on-line platform TEAMS.
