Riverhead Infants’ School (RIS) is situated in Sevenoaks, a market town in the Weald of Kent containing a number of boutique shops, a variety of restaurants and attractive architecture.  The town caters to all everyday needs with banks, supermarkets, a theatre, cinema and leisure centre. Sevenoaks is surrounded by beautiful countryside which epitomises the charm of rural Kent.
  
RIS is located approximately one mile from Sevenoaks train station with its direct rail link with London, just 30 minutes away (and plans in place for the station to become part of the Oyster card network).  There are also rail links with the nearby towns of Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, both bustling towns with many amenities including cinemas, shopping centres and restaurants. Sevenoaks is also well connected by road – RIS is one mile from junction 5 of the M25.

There are many interesting historical sites near Sevenoaks but perhaps the most significant one is Knole House, which is within walking distance of Sevenoaks High Street.  Knole House, a 12th century estate house which was a residence of Henry VIII, lies in Knole Park, a beautiful area that is great for walks and contains a large number of deer and other wildlife.

The Sevenoaks area, containing a host of beautiful rural villages, long winding country roads and cosy, inviting pubs is truly an enchanting place to live.
