Our latest Ofsted report can be found here.

Broadwater Down Primary School is situated on the Southern side of Tunbridge Wells. Walking from the busy town centre and passing the historic ‘Pantiles’, you can find our school tucked away at the end of Broadwater Lane. One parent describes our school as ‘a hidden gem’.

The school sits on a large site which includes an extensive playing field, two playgrounds, community allotments and a pond. We also have our own woodland which provides opportunities for outdoor learning and curriculum enhancement such as “Stone Age Day” and “Minibeast Hunts”. It is also used by Nurture groups as well as Forest School for our younger children. Above all, it’s a great place to play!

Because of our close proximity to Hargate Forest we have become a High Weald Hero School and have our own ‘Welly Walk’ devised by year 4 pupils as part of geography and map work lessons, linking up with local studies.

We use our “Welly Walk” for whole school picnics and themed walks, such as the Anglo-Saxon welly walk. The older children also walk part of the route on their way to and from Forest School sessions.

Broadwater Down Primary School currently has a role of 142 pupils, and we embrace the diversity of opportunities and inclusion that our school has to offer.

Our school is welcoming and nurturing and facilitates supportive relationships where children look after one another and can play in a safe and cared for environment.  We are committed to effective safeguarding of our pupils and recognise the importance of providing an ethos and environment that allows children to feel safe, secure and respected.

Not only are we supporting the welfare and wellbeing of our pupils, but also that of our staff, using surveys and questionnaires to review and react, offering training and support where needed.
