The Gordon Children's Academy

Local Area

Our school is located in Strood, Kent. It is a short walk from the historic town of Rochester, where you can find Rochester Cathedral, the second oldest cathedral in England, and Rochester Castle. Rochester is perhaps best known as the childhood home of Charles Dickens, and features in many of his works. The area has excellent transport links, including close proximity to the M2 and A2 and rail stations with high-speed links to London (Rochester to London is approximately 35 minutes using the high-speed train)

The Gordon Children’s Academy is set in a large Victorian building, with high ceilings and plenty of space for intervention and breakout sessions. We have three large halls, three playgrounds, fantastic Early Years outdoor play area, a remembrance garden and a children’s performance stage built into one of our playgrounds. We are in close proximity to many of our partner schools within the Thinking Schools Academy Trust.
