We are seeking a talented Headteacher who will bring the skills, leadership, dynamism and ambition to build on the successes of Sevenoaks Primary School. Our school is a large, successful community school located in the heart of historic Sevenoaks, Kent. Over recent years we have expanded to three form entry, recruited some excellent new teachers, and this year, moved into our fantastic new premises. This represents a very exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to bring further innovation, as well as building on the success of the school from a very solid base. 

Sevenoaks Primary is an inclusive school where governors, parents and staff work closely together for the benefit of all the children. Our aim is to develop our children’s individual talents to their fullest potential by providing a happy and nurturing school environment, promoting high achievement, encouraging broad interest, self-discipline, respect and care for others. Our 600 children are enthusiastic learners and we strive to offer a broad and stimulating curriculum accompanied by a wide range of additional activities. Through our large and committed team of staff we develop a love of learning to meet their personal, emotional, social and academic needs.  

The successful candidate will need to be up to the challenge. They will need to show strong and clear leadership, vision and determination along with compassion and emotional maturity. The Headteacher, working with the governing body, will set the strategic direction to drive the school forwards. It is essential that the Headteacher is a strong and effective communicator with the ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders and inspire children, staff, parents and the wider community. Operationally, the Headteacher will need to have strong people management skills, financial acumen and the ability to ensure that effective systems exist across the school.
