Do you have a proven track record of school improvement, with an understanding of what it takes to keep a school at 'Outstanding'? Do you have what it takes to be Headteacher at Tunstall C of E Primary School?

Situated in a rural village within the outskirts of Sittingbourne is Tunstall C of E Primary, a successful church school within the village community.

Our Christian values have been chosen by the pupils, staff and governors and we are looking for a head teacher with a significant Christian commitment, who will actively uphold, develop and enhance the school’s Christian ethos.

This is an opportunity to maximise the potential of the new school building and to manage the school’s expansion, whilst preserving the community feel, and, at the same time, maintaining the current outstanding Ofsted rating. It is also important to expand the collaboration with the network of local schools (Gateway Alliance) and be outward looking.

The staff are stable, enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking and the governing body is proud of the school personnel and the pupil behaviour. The PTA is excellent and our parental support is fantastic; they are also great at fund raising for the school. Everyone in the community looks after each other; we have strong links with the local church and good relationships with the Local Authority and Canterbury Diocese. It is important that the new head teacher will provide strong spiritual leadership, in partnership with the local church, to maintain these good links.

With our positive history and heritage, coupled with new facilities and a forward looking outlook, we are expanding to become a 2-form entry school and expecting to be full within 4 years. We are currently oversubscribed, and are fortunate to have our  modern facilities, a brand new building and plenty of outdoor spaces.

Visits to the school are encouraged so come meet the team and the children. Please contact Doreen Hunter to arrange this on 01795 472577 or by email doreen111@sky.com.

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
