Welcome to our Headship microsite and the information it contains to encourage your application and to help us assess whether there is a correct fit between our school and your career aspirations.

We have ambitious and exciting plans to grow, which we hope will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their skills and responsibility.
So, do you have proven leadership experience, a desire to build on our school vision and develop the future path of Joydens Wood Junior School?

We are looking for an aspirational leader to inject innovation, flair and creativity in our journey to becoming an Outstanding School.

We are seeking a senior leader who is able to demonstrate strategic leadership skills and experience, preferably in whole school projects which show a measurable benefit to your setting.

This is a unique opportunity to work in one of Kent's largest Junior schools. We are seeking a forward thinking Headteacher or an experienced senior leader to expand the Academy’s position, whilst maximising our current success to be the best we can be. Teamed with a supportive Governing Body we believe this will be an amazing opportunity for you to make your mark and further your career.

We pride ourselves on our immersive, bright and vibrant educational offering which is fundamental to our curriculum and engages children in different ways. You will have the opportunity to work with our enthusiastic and nurturing staff, develop our curriculum further to inspire creativity and inject an aspirational atmosphere within the whole school.

Our biggest asset is our children, who are well behaved, eager to learn and a real testament to the school and local community. We believe in letting our children shine and we encourage them to do so through our extensive range of extracurricular activities. The numerous sports teams excel in local competitions and our music and arts thrive with regular opportunities for the children to sing and perform in assemblies, school shows and external concerts.

Joydens Wood Junior School is based in a friendly community environment. We work closely with the local church, sporting clubs and other local schools including Joydens Wood Infant School, with which we share a site. We are expanding the school and are now 3 form entry, which will require the school to expand the building and facilities and also increase our PAN.

We appreciate that you may wish to visit the school  to see if it is suitable for you prior to submitting your application.  Visits are warmly welcomed and can be arranged by contacting the school office on 01322 522151.  We can arrange to reserve a car parking space for you.

The school will be shut for the holidays from Friday 21st July 2017 and reopens on Wednesday 6th September 2017. If you need to contact someone during this time to arrange a visit or you require more information please email our Chair of Governors Mr Matt Green on jw.governor@joydens-wood-junior.kent.sch.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
