About the School
Please read a letter from Caroline, Chair of Governors, Barbara on behalf of the Methodist Church and Quentin, on behalf of the Diocese of Canterbury.
The John Wesley School is a unique school having both the Church of England and Methodist Church involved since we opened in September 2007. We currently have 434 children on roll having just become a fully 2 form entry primary school. As a Church maintained school, and as part of our Christian ethos, we maintain close links with St Mary’s Church and the Methodist Church. The children attend regular worship led by the Vicar and Minister of each church.
Our school incorporates the latest ideas for teaching and learning in the 21st century. We value each individual child and seek to provide a stimulating learning experience within a happy, caring Christian school family which includes a very enthusiastic and dedicated staff team.
Our school boasts extensive playing fields and facilities including an amphitheatre, large computer suite, library and main hall with gallery. All classrooms have Clever Touch interactive screens and additional computers. We work closely with the nursery that is attached to the school and there is an environmental centre adjacent to the school.
