St Mark's CEP School

About the School

Please read letters from David, our Chair of Governors and from Alex, Diocesan Director of Education.

St Marks CEP School is a friendly and caring school set in large grounds on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells.  The school started expanding to a two-form entry in 2013.  New classrooms and an additional hall were completed in 2015 to house the expansion, providing superb facilities for the children.

We have a large playing field, playgrounds and an outdoor classroom and are planning to offer forest school activities in the future. The outdoor classroom has just recently opened which was kindly funded by the PTA.

The school currently has two forms in EYFS, Year 1, 2, and 3, and the continued increase in numbers means that there are lots of opportunities for staff CPD and new key stage, leadership and subject leader roles will become available in the future.

The Good Ofsted we received in February 2017 highlighted the strength of the management team, governors and staff and the good behaviour and attitudes of the children towards their learning.  We have strong links with our local church and a strong Christian ethos.  We were judged as outstanding in all areas, and overall, in our SIAMS inspection in 2014.  Our reputation has grown and we have become more popular and first choice for more parents. Most of the 60 places for 2017/8 Early Years have already been filled.

We have an active PTA and a supportive Governing Body.  Our pupils are offered a stimulating mix of Christian worship, social activities, clubs, games and educational trips to extend their classroom learning.  We are part of the Tunbridge Wells Collaborative Trust of 13 primary schools and our leadership team and teaching staff have been active in sharing best practice.

We want all of our children to benefit from outstanding teaching and to feel safe, so that they leave our school confident and prepared to reach their full potential in secondary education.  We are extremely proud of our school and excited about its continuing development.
