Reculver C. of E. Primary School is surrounded by lovely countryside sits right on the edge of the charming seaside town of Herne Bay, Kent, South East England. Herne Bay is in the district of Canterbury with a population of around 38,000 and historically, was a popular Victorian seaside resort.

Today it is still much visited; there is a choice of three beaches and two miles of seafront offering seaside favourites of fish and chips, ice cream parlours, cafes and friendly pubs. Colourful beach huts line the beaches and for the sporting enthusiasts, there is jet skiing, rowing and yachting.

The Herne Bay Pier provides a leisure and open events space and during the year there are fantastic events from classic car shows to the unmissable Herne Bay Festival. 

Canterbury is 7 miles away and takes an hour and a half to get into London by train from Herne Bay station near the town centre. Ashford International is about 25 miles away where you can hop on the Eurostar and travel to Paris within 3 hours.

The town has a number of interesting independent shops as well as supermarkets. Herne Bay and Whitstable (5 miles) have great seafood restaurants and the town itself has a good choice of places to eat in the evening along with cafes and wine bars.

On the eastern side of Herne Bay, near Reculver C. of E. Primary School, is the impressive Reculver Towers and Roman Fort set against the beautiful coastline. There are some great scenic walking and cycling routes to discover the open seascape and rugged countryside in the area.
