Local Area

Ashford is a large, and still expanding, town with a significant railway history.  It is 30 minutes’ drive from both Canterbury and Dover.  The North Downs and The Weald of Kent, only a short distance from Ashford, are attractive areas with good walking countryside; ‘the Garden of England’ has dozens of attractive hamlets and villages. 

There are several new housing developments ringing the town. One of the town’s business parks has a 10-screen cinema, and there is also a large Designer Outlet.

The town is well served by both road (M20) and rail (37 minutes to London on HS1), and is only a 15 minute drive from the Channel Tunnel.  Some Eurostar trains call at the International Station, which is only a short distance from the school.  

Victoria Road School serves the local community of mainly older houses, and Victoria Road itself has seen recent developments.  The town centre, with its modern shopping mall, pedestrianized High Street and leisure centre is only a few minutes’ walk from the school.
