Tenterden Church of England Junior School

About the Federation

Please read a letter from the Chair of Governors

Two separate schools, with their individual identities, entered into a Collaboration in 2010 which was so successful that they then entered into a new phase of partnership in September 2012 when they federated, to be known as Tenterden Primary Federation.

The Infant School offers an exceptionally nurturing environment for the child and the whole family and provides the firm foundations on which the Junior School can build.

The Church of England Junior School has a distinctive Christian ethos which supports pupils in the next step of their learning.

Working closely together, the schools proudly retain their own ethos and character under the Federation vision of ‘Hand in hand we believe, we learn, we achieve’.

Both schools are two form entry and they occupy large adjoining sites in a quiet position on the edge of pleasant countryside, yet within easy walking distance of the High Street, St. Mildred’s church, the Leisure Centre and all amenities.  Our children enjoy generous playgrounds, a large playing field and a separate sports field with a rural outlook.

The Infant School has 155 on roll, so is at near capacity.  Its aim is ‘To nurture, inspire and encourage everyone to be the best they can be.’  The Junior School has 230 on roll – again near capacity.  The aim for this school is based on the school’s distinct Christian ethos and the six Core Christian Values of Friendship, Peace, Reverence, Trust, Wisdom and Endurance.

Our staff and our parents have shared personal qualities they are looking for in the next Executive Headteacher.
