Charing is a small, picturesque village in the Ashford District of Kent, situated at the foot of the North Downs. It embraces village life with regular community events that attract locals and those living further afield. The local Players Guild, point to point racing, Christmas lights, Church Fete and garden shows are some of the annual events

Charing is close to the M20 and Charing train station is walking distance from the village centre. Ashford International train station is less than 15 minutes by car, making it easy to visit the rest of the county, London or Europe.

The village has an excellent choice of independent shops and services, a weekly local produce market, a Methodist Chapel and a Parish Church. There are many traditional pubs serving good food in the village and local area. For the outdoor enthusiast there are plenty of walking, cycling and riding opportunities in and around the village and along the Pilgrims way, as well as a local gliding club for the more adventurous! There is even a members gym with an indoor pool.

Charing is a friendly place to live with a range of children's clubs including Cubs, Brownies, Scouts, Ballet, Toddler Group and G7teen ( the church youth club). A new sports pavilion is currently being built to provide additional facilities for the tennis, football and cricket club.
