Slade Primary School opened for arrival of its first pupils on 14 January 1907. Today, the school has 420 children who all know and understand our mission statement, which is summed up in three words:
• Best
• Team
• Happy
We value resilience, kindness, inclusion and honesty. Pupil leadership is a core part of school life and we encourage pupils to play an active and positive role in all aspects of school life. We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to hold a position of responsibility that impacts the school as a whole and have therefore developed a range of leadership roles available to children, which you can learn more about on our website. From house captains to safeguarding champions, there are a real variety of roles on offer to suit different interests and skills.
Slade Primary School has a successful Hearing-Impaired Unit, a well-established Inclusion team and a focus on the wellbeing of the whole school. Benefitting from a central location in Tonbridge, with great outside space that includes an on-site Forest School area, the school offers pupils and families with a wide range of needs a safe, supportive environment in which to learn and grow.
