The district of Canterbury, nestled on the River Stour, encompasses the coastal towns of Herne Bay and Whitstable. Located 55 miles southeast of London, Canterbury is a blend of historical charm and modern vibrancy. 

The city's skyline is dominated by the awe-inspiring Canterbury Cathedral, one of the oldest in England. Despite its rich history, Canterbury thrives as a modern city. It boasts luxury hotels, diverse restaurants offering global cuisines, lively nightclubs, and welcoming pubs, providing a comprehensive experience for visitors.  

For shopping enthusiasts, Canterbury presents a colourful array of shop windows, inviting exploration. The city accommodates many well-known high street brands, alongside a delightful selection of independent retailers. The King's Mile exudes a unique charm, while areas like St Dunstan's, West Gate Towers, and Northgate offer a variety of specialist and individual outlets. 

Exploring Canterbury on foot is a rewarding experience. Walking trails and guided tours enable visitors to fully appreciate the city's winding lanes and streets, each possessing a unique character. For a more leisurely experience, boat trips along the River Stour provide a chance to admire Canterbury's finest and historical architecture amidst scenic views. The river's crystal clear waters are home to ducks, swans, fish, and other wildlife, while the river banks are adorned with bending willow trees and wildflowers.

There are excellent transport links with Canterbury East and West train stations in the city providing easy access to London.  The A2 is within close proximity allowing you easy access to travel to other parts of Kent.  You can visit the border of London in just over one hour driving or Dover, 17 miles away, situated on the coast and consists of Europe’s international ferry port.   
Nearby are the popular seaside towns of Whitstable, with its famous annual oyster festival, and Herne Bay which has great activities and seafood restaurants.  You can even venture a bit further to discover the beautiful sandy bays in Broadstairs; Kent is spoilt with a great choice of beaches so you can discover a different one each weekend.
