You can also view our latest Ofsted report here.

We are a small, friendly, village primary school with 135 children taught in 6 classes. Our rural location just off the A28 between Ashford and Tenterden means we serve families from the village and the wider area. We have received a good grading in our most recent Ofsted inspection (January 2018).

Our large site has extensive grounds, which includes a gardening area and large playing field. We also have an 'Outdoor Learning Area' up and running which includes a large pond, fire pit, orchard and many other learning resources.

We have a friendly, dedicated staff who work seamlessly together as a team, ensuring every child reaches their own personal excellence through a focus on quality first teaching and pastoral support.

As a team we are dedicated to providing every child, family and staff member with rich opportunities as we encourage them to develop their own personal excellence be that academic, sporting or artistic.

The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) consists of an Interim Executive Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, SENDCo and Family Inclusion Officer, with only the Deputy Headteacher having part time class responsibilities. The Deputy Headteacher also has responsibility for assessment across the school. We have Subject Leaders in Maths, English, Science and Modern Foreign Languages who lead their subjects with passion and enthusiasm.

As part of the school’s commitment to the development of the children, they are given the opportunity to undertake a wide variety of activities.  These include the following clubs: dance, yoga, table tennis, running, gardening, science, ukulele and Creepy Crawlies.

In addition, the school undertakes a variety of off-site activities including a Bushcraft residential trip (Year 5 and 6) with activities such as fresh-water swimming, wilderness first aid, fire lighting, camp craft, foraging, trap making and shelter building.

Children represent the school in sporting events such as: cross country competitions, biathlon and hockey tournaments.

Children also enjoy positions of responsibility throughout the school including House Captains and School Council representatives.

The school encourages input from visitors to enrich and build upon the children’s learning; such as STEM Ambassadors and Astronomers for the Space topic and authors to inspire children in English. Subject leaders also organise curriculum days including Modern Foreign Languages and History. Charity fund raising events regularly take place too.
