Cranbrook Church of England Primary School is a short walk from the centre of the market town of Cranbrook (population c.7,000), which is situated in the Weald of Kent, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The town has a medieval layout of streets and alleys and, at its heart, is its historic Parish Church of St Dunstan, affectionately known as the ‘Cathedral of the Weald’, to which the school is closely linked. In addition to its rich history, Cranbrook possesses a wide variety of thriving shops and services which meet the needs of the resident population and its many visitors. The town’s Weald Sports Centre offers an impressive range of facilities and an extensive programme of exercise classes. The town is also home to Cranbrook School, an 11-18 co-educational grammar school, founded in 1518.

Cranbrook is approximately 15 miles from Maidstone (County town of Kent) and Royal Tunbridge Wells (bus services to both) and is also within easy reach of London. Staplehurst is the nearest railway station (10 minute drive) and from here, the journey time to central London is about an hour.

For recreation, the local farmland and woods can be easily accessed by a network of footpaths and bridleways. Angley Wood is close-by, while Bedgebury and Hemsted Forests are only a short drive or bike-ride away. Cranbrook is near a number of National Trust attractions such as Sissinghurst Castle,  Scotney Castle and Smallhythe Place, and the south coast (including links to the continent) is in easy reach. 

Currently, carefully planned residential development within the  local area is going ahead, so although Cranbrook is steeped in history, it also has an exciting future, as does its flourishing Primary School.
