Parkside Community Primary School

Vacancy

Close date: 5th September 2014 at 12 midday
Date of Interviews: 23rd September 2014
Position start date: January 2015
Salary: L8 – L21

As our headline states, we are a COMMUNITY Primary School. It’s fair to say the community holds the school in high regard and this is fully reciprocated by everyone at Parkside. Canterbury, with its historic and artistic sites, universities, retail centres and national and international transport links is a vibrant location for single professionals, couples and families. There is a varied housing stock and some very good schools. We are willing to discuss a disturbance/relocation allowance with suitable candidates.

Our school is not in a prosperous part of this cathedral city, in fact we are in the centre of a pocket rated as one of the most deprived areas of Kent.

This is your challenge and opportunity – build on the Good Ofsted achieved in June 2013, continue with the programme of broad community engagement we have started and thus develop the school into a spearhead for educational development within the vicinity. Most of our children walk to school, for some it is an oasis of calm in their lives and the recent Ofsted inspection report commented very favourably on their behaviour.

We aim to provide the best standard of education for all of them and are looking for a strong, decisive leader to take the school up to outstanding and our community of pupils on to become equally outstanding citizens.

As governors we will ensure you receive the optimum level of professional development and training opportunities. We have a dedicated team of teachers, support staff, office staff and governors with a broad range of talents and experience to support you and a mature, well-maintained site with extensive sports facilities.

You are strongly encouraged to visit the school for an informal discussion – please contact Julie Williams on 01227 464956 to make arrangements. For further information and to apply, please visit our microsite.

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
