The Governors are seeking to appoint an energetic and inspirational leader to help the school become 'Outstanding'.

Mereworth is a happy school which was judged good with outstanding features at the last OFSTED Inspection (Feb 2013) and has continued to develop practice further over the last two years. The school consistently matches or exceeds local and national averages at the end of each Key Stage and this combined with a rural setting, large grounds, an outdoor learning environment including an outdoor classroom, a stage, climbing wall, wildlife garden and pond, polytunnel and planting beds, parents who value learning, and pupils who are well behaved and eager to learn makes Mereworth a wonderful place to work.

The school is seeking a new headteacher who will work with its strong and supportive staff team and governing body to:

• Generate enthusiasm and support from pupils, staff, governors, parents and the local community to work towards shared common goals
• Set clearly defined, aspirational targets and goals at an individual and school level
• Manage the resources available to achieve best value for money
• Provide a supportive and structured environment which supports professional development and ensures good and outstanding teaching takes place in every classroom every day
• Help develop a high quality, exciting curriculum across all key stages
• Demonstrate a good knowledge of school policy, personnel issues, curriculum and finance
