We are looking for an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with communication and interaction, and social, emotional and mental health needs. The pupil will need support accessing their learning at Year 3 level and also support with their dysregulation and social communication.  The pupil is currently on a part time timetable and works in our nurture room.

The main tasks include:

- supporting the development of skills in currciulum skills, communication and interaction, and social and behavioural needs

- differentiating and personalising work for the pupil to suit their ability and interests

- motivating and supporting the pupil

- helping the pupil to regulate their emotions with sensory breaks

- close liaison with class teacher and SEN team. 

The successful applicant will be employed on a temporary contract linked to the pupil and funding (i.e. the contract remains whilst the pupil is at our school).  The contract will be for 25 hours per week over the five school days currently arranged as (8:30 - 13:30.  It is paid on Kent Range 3 pro rata, term time only.  Appointment will be from as soon as available.

The school is well resourced with many facilities including: a library, computing suite and extensive grounds with a wildlife and outdoor learning area. We offer a wide variety of clubs for children to enrich their learning.

We had a one day OFSTED inspection in Feb 2020 with a good outcome which confirmed our high expectations and standards.

With easy access from the M20, and being situated less than 3 miles from Maidstone centre, the school is easily accessible by road.
