The Federation of Goodnestone and Nonington Primary Schools is formed of two small, friendly neighbouring Church of England primary schools, located in remarkable rural villages surrounded by peaceful countryside. The Federation is under the leadership of one governing body and one headteacher. The schools work together and closely with children, parents, staff, friends and community. All our children are seen and treated as individuals. Our aim is that they are challenged to achieve their best and therefore flourish. Children are usually taught in three mixed age classes organised as R/1/2, 3/4 and 5/6.

In Goodnestone's last Ofsted inspection we were judged as a good school with outstanding elements. As one of our children described the school, "we are one big happy family, that supports each other in everything we do, and we are all recognised for our strengths". Children come from a wide catchment area and with the expansion of Aylesham, a nearby village, the roll has great potential to expand.

The Federation has strong links with the countryside and local farms and has weekly farm school visits. As well as playgrounds and gardens, Goodnestone has a new and beautiful two acres of Woodland. Nonington has a large and wonderful tree lined playing field and woodland area and is in the process of an exciting new building project.
