Ourschool is a warm, friendly, happy and welcoming place. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment with a confident, inquisitive and independent community of learners, who are more than able to shape the future and promote the Christian values of Responsibility, Respect, Empathy and Courage.

Our hope for each child is to develop a joy of lifelong personal learning, and to shine – living life in all it’s fulness. We celebrate children’s achievements in many different ways; there is a celebration collective worship every Friday which all parents are welcome to attend.

As a Church of England School we seek to keep these core Christian values at the heart of everything we do. We strive to enable the whole school community to be a place where caring relationships are valued and where every member of our school community is encouraged to reach their full potential in a happy, safe and caring environment. We have a very strong relationship with both the local church and the Diocese.

Our parish Church is St Peters which is a magnificent country church within walking distance of the school and is used regularly by the school for festivals, celebrations, and special services. The Rector is a regular visitor for collective worship.

Our staff are a dedicated team with a passion for our children’s success and wellbeing. They work well with parents and other outside agencies, to nurture the children and provide good learning opportunities.

In normal circumstances, we offer an After School club and provide the wrap around care our working families rely on. There is also a wide variety of well attended before and after school clubs too, including art, maths, Korfball, football, athletics, netball, and also a choir club.

The children move on from Ditton CE Junior school to a range of secondary schools within the area including Kent Grammar schools and local academies. Our children have the opportunity to engage with these schools in KS2 and to access a variety of new learning opportunities.

The school enjoys continued cooperation with Ditton Infant school, and we continue to find ways to strengthen this relationship.

The PTA is very active and regularly arranges activities such as the Summer Fair, discos and firework nights are hugely successful. These events all help to raise funds and involve the parents as well as the children in the life of the school.

With the support of the dedicated staff, the governance, parents and most importantly the enthusiasm of the children we have exciting times ahead and need to look for a new Headteacher to help us on our journey.

In December 2015, SIAMS graded the school Good but in November 2019, Ofsted graded it as Requires Improvement.  The academic year 2020-21 saw the arrival of an interim team for leadership and governance to ensure improvement. Together huge strides have been made and the progress has already been noted by staff, pupils, parents as well as the Local Authority and Diocese of Rochester. The whole school community is fully ambitious to get recognition through Good to Excellent/Outstanding and beyond.  To do this, the best permanent Headteacher is needed to now lead the school forward and the recruitment process will begin shortly.
