This is an amazing opportunity to become the Headteacher of this award-winning, Ofsted-rated Outstanding school. Its embedded, pupil-driven ethos and values ensure that the children of Callis Grange understand the importance of their learning and have respect for others. Callis Grange is a community LA maintained nursery and infant school that would allow the Headteacher to really make an impact on the development of the school and the opportunities it provides for our children.  

Our new Headteacher should be able to inspire and support our staff, children, parents and local community. They should also work with the Governors to develop and build on the school’s vision and ethos and strive to improve our outstanding performance. We believe that our new Headteacher should be approachable and welcoming to all members of our school community and demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for and joy in working with young children.  

We have close links with a number of local schools, including our neighbouring junior schools St Peter-in-Thanet and Upton, ensuring a smooth transition for our children. We work collaboratively with several schools in East Kent in the moderation of Key Stage 1 assessments.

Candidates will be supported internally through an experienced leadership structure within the school, including a dedicated and supportive governing body and a School Business Manager.  External support will be provided in the form of a mentoring programme and a willingness to invest in our new Headteacher via CPD.
