Woodlands Primary School is located in the historic market town of Tonbridge in Kent.

The River Medway flows through the centre of the busy town. Tonbridge Castle, which dates to Norman times, is in the town centre close to The Racecourse sports ground, which provides a wide range of sporting facilities. These include an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, baseball pitch, bowling green, football pitches, rugby pitches, hard surface tennis courts, a large children's play area, a skate park and an outdoor gym. 

The town has excellent road and rail links to the surrounding towns and London. Trains run to London Charing Cross every 10 minutes on a weekday and 3 times an hour at weekends. Tonbridge is situated on the A21 and A26 roads and is also close to the M25 motorway. Maidstone, the County Town of Kent, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks are all close by and easily accessible by car and public transport. The town's excellent transport links and proximity to rural Kent mean that residents have the best of the countryside and urban living making Tonbridge a very popular residential area.

Many cultural events take place in Tonbridge, including the annual Arts Festival. Other theatrical productions and art exhibitions take place throughout the rest of the year, including a carnival and Christmas fireworks display.  

Tonbridge is an active town with thriving clubs and societies for a broad range of interests. Tonbridge Angels Football Club are a semi-professional Community Owned Club running men’s and women’s and junior teams – the men’s team are currently playing in the Bostik Premier League. Tonbridge Juddians Rugby Football Club runs senior teams, a women’s side and the full range of junior teams.  The Angel Centre has a modern gym, large sports halls and public meeting hall, all of which are used for social meetings and exercise classes catering for all age ranges and levels of ability.

Tonbridge is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has stunning views towards the North Downs. There are plenty of local attractions to explore, including Groombridge Place, Ightham Mote and Scotney Castle.
