Lower Halstow currently have 158 pupils on roll and Newington currently have 180 pupils. They both have close links with their village church and community. Both have spacious school grounds with games pitches. Each School offers a safe secure learning environment and is well equipped with resources, including IWBs, a wireless network and a bank of laptops or ICT Suite. Both schools have been graded as GOOD at their recent Ofsted Inspections in May 2015. You can see the Ofsted reports for Lower Halstow School and Newington CEP School here.

Lower Halstow School moved into its present building in October 2005 and offers many modern facilities such as Community Sports Hall, ICT suite & a new Dining Hall. Lower Halstow School is a well-resourced rural school, with excellent facilities set in attractive grounds, with a welcoming family feel and inclusive ethos.

Newington School was extended and re-developed in 2000, with new, modern classrooms built to the rear of the school. The old school building now houses offices, the staff room, kitchen and school hall.

Since the formation of the federation in 2012, both schools have benefitted from the staff sharing best practice, cooperative planning and CPD.

We have supportive Governors and parents. Children are happy, polite and enthusiastic about their learning, showing pride in their school. We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are looking for new ways to make learning fun, engaging and effective. There are currently 7 classes at each school.
