Our unique Church school is looking to recruit a new Headteacher following the retirement of Mrs Teresa Anderson, who has been our Head for eight years and has led us on a remarkable journey of development and transformation. As a popular and expanding school we are keen to appoint someone who would relish the challenge of supporting us through an exciting period of further change.

The position of Headteacher at St Barnabas School would suit a current Deputy Head with Church-aided experience, who wishes to move to a single form entry but growing primary school with unique ties to the local creative community and the Church. The successful candidate would be supported by a dynamic and engaged Board of Governors.

Community is of huge importance to us and over time we have built excellent links in the local area through outreach and community work. We are proud to hear that people want to send their children to St Barnabas as they feel confident and believe in the school and its community structure.

The children are actively encouraged to recognise the role and responsibility they have in society which is reinforced by our creative and inclusive curriculum. All of the staff and Governors at St Barnabas are committed to the positive and enduring relationship we have with the local church and this is reflected in the Christian ethos that is integral to our school.

We were pleased to have been rated “Good” by Ofsted and are positive that with the right candidate we can improve and build on this success. When s/he joins our expanding school, the new Headteacher will be fully supported by the staff and Governing Body who are committed to lifelong learning and continued professional development.
