We are looking to appoint a well qualified and experienced IT Technician for 20 hours a week, term time only, to join our friendly and forward looking school.
The role involves leading the development of IT throughout the school community and ensuring that IT equipment and systems work effectively.
The IT Technician will work with children and adults to support learning and to promote the safe use of IT.
We are looking for a candidate with initiative, imagination and creativity to identify and implement IT development opportunities.
South Borough Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced CRB check.
South Borough Primary School is currently a 1 form entry school in Maidstone. It became part of the Swale Academies Trust on 1st February 2015. In September 2015 the school began its journey to become a 2 form entry by taking 60 Reception children. More building work will take place in summer 2016 to continue the process.
At South Borough Primary School we believe every child matters and is at the heart of all we do. We aim to ensure they can read, write and calculate effectively when they leave us. Together with that we aim to instill a sense of pride, tolerance, determination and perseverance to help them in all aspects of life. Good behaviour for learning is key for children to make good progress. We reward and practice this behaviour at school with visual behaviour ladders in all classes.
We are currently using “letters & sounds” to teach phonics in Nursery and Reception and KS1. Some KS2 children have specific provisions for phonics too. The school has purchased new resources in Maths, including Mathletics and Bug Club for reading. Each class is teaching the new curriculum 2014. We have purchased a new scheme of work for PE and Computing to link to the new curriculum.
We collaborate with other Trust schools, to ensure best practice is shared. We value our parents and have an active Friends of South Borough (FOSB) who regularly meet and organise events/functions/activities for our children.
We are proud to offer a 5-day Breakfast Club and have just set up a 5-day After Care Club.
