The role involves leading the development of IT throughout the school community and ensuring that IT equipment and systems work effectively.
The IT Technician will work with children and adults to support learning and to promote the safe use of IT.
We are looking for a candidate with initiative, imagination and creativity to identify and implement IT development opportunities.
South Borough Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced CRB check.
This vacancy is for a Nursery Teacher and we are also looking to recruit a Reception Class Teacher from September 2017. This post would be suitable for experienced teachers or NQTs.
South Borough Primary School is currently a 1 form entry school in Maidstone. It became part of the Swale Academies Trust on 1st February 2015. In September 2015 the school began its journey to become a 2 form entry by taking 60 Reception children. More building work is currently taking place to continue the process.
At South Borough Primary School we believe every child matters and is at the heart of all we do. We aim to ensure they can read, write and calculate effectively when they leave us. Together with that we aim to instill a sense of pride, tolerance, determination and perseverance to help them in all aspects of life. Good behaviour for learning is key for children to make good progress. We reward and practice this behaviour at school and our core values promote children to become supportive, honest children who are confident to take risks and persevere when the going gets tough.
We are currently using “letters & sounds” to teach phonics in Nursery and Reception and KS1. Some KS2 children have specific provisions for phonics too. The school has purchased new resources in Maths, including Mathletics and Bug Club for reading. Each class is teaching the new curriculum 2014. We have purchased a new scheme of work for PE and Computing to link to the new curriculum.
We collaborate with other Trust schools, to ensure best practice is shared. We value our parents and have an active Friends of South Borough (FOSB) who regularly meet and organise events/functions/activities for our children.
We are proud to offer wrap around care from 7.45am to 6.00pm every day.
