1:1 Teaching Support Assistant

30 hours per week, term time only

To start as soon as possible or February 21st 2022

We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to join our happy, friendly and dedicated team. Petham is a good school with a strong supportive community set in rural village, close to the city of Canterbury. We are very fortunate to be able to learn in such a beautiful setting, surrounded by sheep, trees and hills and we are only a stone's throw away from the local church with which we have strong links. Petham is a happy and friendly place, where children enjoy learning (and playing!) and can achieve great things.

Do you have the skills to work with a pupil with Special Educational Needs to support their personalised learning and social development? Are you adaptable and flexible, and ready to respond to the needs of the child?

Previous experience of working with children in a school would be beneficial. The ideal candidate needs to be positive, highly motivated and flexible. The position will involve supporting a child in our Year 1/2 class. Some support during unstructured times such as playtime and lunchtimes will be required.

The ability to think on your feet; working both independently and as part of the team, to promote and demonstrate resilience and be a positive role model for our children is key.

The role is Term Time Only (38 weeks per year), and temporary until 31.08.2022 as the vacancy is linked to pupil funding; the post has the potential to extend past that time frame.
