Snowfields Academy has a fantastic opportunity and are seeking a Speech & Language Therapist to join and enhance the work of their already established and successful team who provide therapy within an outstanding special educational needs environment. The department benefits from incredibly strong leadership and this is a great opportunity for a therapist who is looking to make a contribution to the already diverse therapy team within the academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own caseload and will work in partnership with colleagues to ensure delivery of a high quality service. We are looking for someone who will run sessions with students and support the team.

This role is ideal for those who have recently qualified and have a real interest in working with children with Autism. Relevant training can be provided and you will be supported within the department. 

This role is full-time (37 hours per week) during Term Time plus 2 weeks. The actual salary offered for this position is £22,734​​​​​​​ (£25,771 full time equivalent) to reflect the term time working pattern, This actual salary is comparable to NHS Band 5  (£25,655).​​​​​​​

Please be aware that this role will require the successful candidate to support both campuses in Bearsted and Cranbrook.

Information about the school

Working with us at Snowfields Academy: ​​​​​​​Snowfields Academy opened in September 2020 as a new secondary provision for students with ASD. When full we will offer 140 places across year groups 7-13 for young people who are working at or close to age-related expectations. Class sizes are small with 12/13 in each class, supported by 2-3 teaching assistants according to need. We offer a range of GCSEs and other qualifications for young people on a blend of academic and vocational pathways.

The academy benefits from being a brand new school with a design tailored to the students it provides for, carefully considered to make the most of both its inside and outside environments in order to enhance the learning of its students. The environment supports specialisms in horticulture and catering with a purpose-designed teaching kitchen, servery and cafe, and internal and external horticulture facilities supporting our students into employment. We will work closely with local businesses to offer an outstanding range of work experience opportunities and supported internships.​​​​​​​
