We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring specialist learning support assistant to work as part of the PE Department in supporting a diverse range of students of different ages and abilities students in lessons.

You must be flexible, outgoing, show initiative and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. There is a demanding physical element to this role as you will be required to take part in a wide range of different sports and physical activities and support our young people by participating with them. You will also be required to lead small group activities as well as work with students on a 1:1 basis.

Applicants need to be able to successfully manage behaviour and be able to motivate and encourage students to take part in lessons. Experience of SEN/SEMH related strategies and programmes would be welcomed. Rapport with our students is key. This role is demanding and challenging, but very rewarding.

Key Requirements

  • Full driving licence and use of own vehicle
  • Experience of working in schools (preferably SEMH)
  • Understanding of SEMH
  • Confident to cover staff in department and lead lessons when required
  • Ready to learn new skills and complete required training courses
  • Proactive, creative and innovative
  • Emotionally robust and resilient
