Occupational Therapist

Band 5-6 £26,970- £37,890 FTE

(Taking into account the Agenda for Change band 5-6)

36 hours per week

Parkwood Hall is a residential and day school for pupils aged 8-19 years with moderate to severe learning difficulties and other complex needs including autism and language difficulties.

The Occupational Therapist will work as part of a newly formed, fully integrated multi-disciplinary therapy team, which provide therapeutic input based on current evidence and best practice. The Integrated Therapy Team uses a 3-tiered approach to deliver specialist input. All the therapists work in collaboration with the class team, residential and family to enable our students’ engagement and participation in all the school activities and curriculum whilst promoting and developing communication, independence, health and wellbeing.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
