We are looking to appoint an excellent Administrative Assistant to join our hardworking team to cover maternity leave. You will be the face of the school, answering ‘phone queries, managing visitors and supporting the leadership team and the smooth running of the school. You are responsible for the management of absence, school meals and trips as well as new entrants to the school and prepare reports and letters. You are responsible for managing the school office for two days a week and work alongside another member of staff on three days.


We are a warm and welcoming school with friendly children and staff and you will join a hardworking and supportive team.


The successful candidate will:
• be highly organised, reliable and able to organise their time and prioritise tasks
• be fully competent in the use of IT packages including Microsoft Office
• have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well under pressure
• have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• be friendly and approachable with a welcoming and professional manner
• be flexible and positive and able to react to change and need as they arise
• (preferably) have experience of using school administrative and financial systems, including SIMS


Hours: Term time only, 35 hours per week, 8.30am-4.30pm with one hour lunch break daily.

Canterbury Road Primary School is a one form entry primary school close to Sittingbourne town centre and within easy reach of the M2, M20 and the train station.

We have interested, curious children who love to learn and enjoy coming to school. Our children make excellent progress from their start points and progress & attainment are above national levels at KS2 as they move into their secondary education. We have highly skilled staff who are committed to the development of the whole child and a have an unwavering focus on all pupils achieving their best.
