All Faiths Children’s Academy is a one form entry school with a well-established provision for deaf children in a primary mainstream setting. We currently have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Receptionist/ Attendance Officer. This is a maternity cover however there is potential for a permanent opportunity.

Week per year: 39 weeks (Term time only + 5 INSET days)

Contract: Maternity Contract (Potential permanent opportunity)

Working hours for the role are: Monday to Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm (4 days a week) then 8.00am – 3.30pm (1 day a week) with 30 minutes for lunch. The selected day will be agreed by the school.

Your new role will consist of:

  • Providing a friendly, welcoming, first point of contact for parents/carers, visitors and staff.
  • Ability to cope with conflicting demands, deadlines and interruptions and to work to tight deadlines in a methodical manner observing confidentiality at all times.
  • Assisting with preparation for Educational Visits
  • Ordering and maintaining stationery for the school
  • Typing letters and general admin.
  • Helping to update the school’s website
  • Using the school's management information system
  • General office administration
  • First aid to pupils
  • Deal with all aspects of attendance and lateness
  • Any other duties as required

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills 
  • Have excellent English grammar and spelling
  • Strong ICT skills 
  • A team player 
  • Honest reliable and trustworthy with confidential information 
  • To promote excellent attendance and punctuality to reduce absence levels. 
  • To organise all Nursery admissions to the school in a timely manner. 
  • To undertake other administration tasks when required.

All Faiths Children’s Academy is a one form entry school, we specialise in teaching deaf children and our expert staff help students to communicate effectively using British Sign Language, Sign Supported English, finger spelling, lip reading and speech using a Total Communication approach. Deafness in itself is not a barrier to learning or an obstacle; every pupil deserves to have the highest expectations for achievement.
