Teacher of Geography / Travel and Tourism

 

Are you a forward thinking and highly motivated teacher of Geography and Travel and Tourism?  

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can inspire and motivate our Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level students. We would welcome applications from NQT’s to experienced teachers. Prior experience of teaching Travel and Tourism would be an advantage. At Homewood School we encourage the use of a range of innovative teaching techniques for a positive impact and development of our students.

 

Our large Geography and Travel and Tourism department teaches a variety of qualifications including GCSE and A-level Geography alongside level 2 and 3 Travel and Tourism BTEC. The department also has a rich programme of trips, visits and extra-curricular activities including a forthcoming trip to Italy.

 

With our ethos of ‘Learning, Respect and Belonging’, we have high aspirations for everyone and expect everyone to contribute positively to the school by working hard and participating in school activities.  We treat everyone as an individual and value personal strengths and qualities.  Homewood School is part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools serving the beautiful Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages.  All teaching staff are provided with an IT device and there is also a nursery based on the school site which offers discounts to Homewood Staff.

Information about the school

Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre is a mixed 11 – 18 wide ability school with Academy status with 2000 students including 350 in the Sixth Form. We are part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools and nurseries serving the Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. The school is situated on the edge of Tenterden and enjoys a large semi-rural site overlooking open countryside. Home Farm Nursery is based in the grounds of Homewood School.

Homewood has excellent facilities for all its students and our specialisms in Performing Arts, Applied Learning and the Rural Dimension underpin our approaches to learning which are designed to raise achievement across the whole student body.
