Following a period of sustained school improvement and growth in student numbers, we are seeking to appoint quality graduates to positions in our student support and curriculum teams.  We are over-subscribed for places in Year 7 again for 2021-22.

The positions will offer high calibre candidates an opportunity to work in roles supporting young people in making rapid progress in their learning.

Suitable candidates will have a strongly embedded desire to work with young people and help them to achieve positive academic outcomes.  They will be resourceful, resilient problem solvers, well equipped for identifying and then dismantling individual barriers to learning.

Exceptional non-graduate candidates may be considered.

Dover Christ Church Academy is an 11-18 mixed, non-selective Academy, located in semi-rural surroundings on the outskirts of Dover, conveniently situated near to motorway links and within easy reach of the continent.

Aspen 2 at Dover Christ Church Academy is the designated provider for students with a wide range of profound, severe and complex special educational needs.

With support from our sponsor, Canterbury Christ Church University, we have developed an aspirational and successful Academy where we equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need for their future.

Aspen 2 Information Aspen 2 is the Dover District Specialist Provision for students aged 11 - 18 with profound, severe and complex learning needs. All students within Aspen 2 have an Education Health Care Plan and are working at levels which are significantly below their age-related mainstream peers. Whilst Aspen 2 is designated as a Specialist Resource Provision, within the heart of Dover Christ Church Academy, it functions as a special school with students spending most of their time studying highly differentiated curriculums within their Aspen 2 classes.

Aspen 2 Vision To provide a unique learning journey that enables each student to progress holistically across the four strands of Cognition & Learning, Communication & Interaction, Social Emotional & Mental Health and Physical & Sensory. This is achieved through bespoke specialist teaching and interventions as well as offering a range of inclusive opportunities across Aspen 2 and DCCA. Together we are proactive and determined in working with students to reach their full potential.

Aspen 2 works with many agencies to support all the needs of the students. The NHS provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy for students who are referred to their services. Aspen 2 also employs a music therapist and a counsellor who each work one day a week to support the mental health and well-being of our students.

Throughout their education journey at Aspen 2, all students benefit from the rich and varied inclusive opportunities that we are able to provide; opportunities that are made all the richer by our unique position at the heart of Dover Christ Church Academy. As such Aspen 2 benefits from the teaching by specialist subject teachers and facilities in Music, Food technology, Catering, Sports, and Design & Technology.
